Supporting a Student of Concern (CARE)

Temple University’s CARE Team is a multidisciplinary body of stakeholders from across the university which receives referrals pertaining to students exhibiting behaviors that arouse concern, collects additional information, and then identifies and enacts appropriate strategies for addressing the situation.

Students can be referred to the CARE Team for concerns related to observable behavior such as

  • unusual or erratic behavior,
  • extended absences,
  • threats towards others,
  • expressions of suicidal intent,
  • troubling themes or references in work, or
  • other safety-threatening actions.

If you are concerned about a student, please click here and fill out the CARE Team referral form.

If it is an emergency, please contact:

Temple University Campus Safety Services

(215) 204-1234 (off campus)

1-1234 (on campus)

The CARE team recommends, if you feel safe doing so, expressing your concern directly to the student.  You could also offer to walk the student to Tuttleman Counseling Services, if appropriate.
