Kia Beckett is a seasoned higher education professional with more than two decades of experience supporting student success, organizational effectiveness, and operational excellence at Temple University. She joined the Division of Student Affairs in 2001, beginning her career in the Student Assistance Center, where she worked closely with New Student Orientation and Community Service and developed a strong foundation in student support and cross-campus collaboration.
Kia went on to serve for several years as the Administrative Coordinator for the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards, where she became a trusted operational leader known for her attention to detail, sound judgment, and commitment to fairness and integrity. Her work in this area has been recognized through multiple awards, including honors for Customer Service, Integrity, Title IX practice, and being named an Unsung Hero, recognitions that reflect her consistency, professionalism, and behind-the-scenes impact.
Recently promoted to Senior Coordinator of Operations for the Dean of Students, Kia now oversees the administrative and operational functions critical to both the Dean of Students Department and the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards. In this role, she manages day-to-day operations, supervises and develops student employees, supports onboarding and training processes, coordinates scheduling, maintains compliance with federal and institutional regulations, and collaborates closely with senior leadership to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Kia brings a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to her work and is deeply interested in employee relations, learning and development, recruiting and talent acquisition, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. She is particularly passionate about problem-solving and strategies that strengthen teams, support individuals, and help organizations reach their full potential.
A proud Temple alumna, Kia earned both her Bachelor of Arts and her Master of Science in Human Resources from Temple University. Her work is grounded in a genuine commitment to people, continuous improvement, and creating environments where students, staff, and institutions can thrive.
