She currently works as a research assistant at Fox Chase Cancer Center and the Center for Asian Health at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine. Outside of school and work, she finds joy in being a part of the Temple University Philippine American Council (TUPAC) and the Temple Club Swim Team. After graduation, she will pursue her Masters of Public Health here at Temple, thanks to the support of her professors, mentors, friends, and family.
Jacqueline Lopez, Educator & Academic Advisor in Temple University Honors Program, shares that “Beyond her academics, I’ve gotten to know Alex on a personal level as her Academic Advisor and I marvel at her thoughtful leadership and service to the University and North Philadelphia community. Alex has served as a CPH Peer Advisor, Philadelphia Experience Ambassador and volunteered with the Cherry Pantry. Additionally, Alex is currently a Research Project Coordinator with the Center for Asian Health as well as a Research Assistant for Fox Chase Cancer Center with the Tobacco Treatment study. These notable experiences - among her many more research positions as listed in her resume - aren’t merely resume boosters for Alex. She has been deeply reflective and intentional about meaningful research that can positively impact women of color and historically underrepresented groups".
