Ray is a certified trauma-informed and DE&I (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) Foundations certified junior double majoring in English and communication and social influence with a minor in sociology. She is from Washington DC, has been a committed activist organizing to prevent sexual violence since middle school, and has since become the Founding President of Temple University’s chapter of It’s On Us: Student Activists Against Sexual Assault, which has previously been awarded ""Student Organization of the Year"" and ""Best Collaboration"" for a comprehensive prevention workshop with the Interfraternity Council. Ray is a member of the Student Leadership Council, sits on the Temple University Police Department Student Advisory Board, occupies the first ever LGBTQ+ Caucus Chair position at It's On Us National, and volunteers as a Campus Lead for Every Voice Coalition. This year she became a Truman Scholar, Student Body President-Elect, and was named a 2024 Iconic Philly Woman by the City of Philadelphia's CPOC.
Director of Fellowships and Advising, Barbara Gorka, shares that “Ray’s leadership in SAASA was showcased when the club was selected for a substantial $350,000 grant from Uber for Temple students who needed a ride in unsafe situations. Ray orchestrated a comprehensive campaign by collaborating with Uber and It's On Us. She embodies the service, leadership and academic excellence that characterize Diamond Award recipients and is the strongest Truman applicant I have seen in my nine years at Temple”
