Conferencing Housing FAQs

What items should I bring with me?

Guests staying long term are encouraged to bring supplies to make their stay more comfortable.

Residence Halls DO NOT include the following items:

  • Trashcans/trash bags (Available in common areas)

  • Linen/Pillows/Towels (Linen Packets are available at an additional cost)

  • Daily maid/custodial service

  • Alarm clocks

  • Hangers

  • Iron and ironing board

  • Telephone (Phones can be ordered at an additional cost)

  • Television (Morgan Hall and apartments in 1300 Hall are equipped with televisions)

  • Additional lighting/lamps (Each room is affixed with one ceiling/wall lighting fixture)

Is my room cleaned daily?

Your room is cleaned prior to your arrival and after your departure.  Temple does not have daily housekeeping services inside guest rooms. Items that must be discarded can be placed in trash bins or designated trash rooms located throughout the common areas within the residence halls.

Can I have items shipped to me at the residence halls?

To send/receive expedited packages it is best to use FedEx or UPS as both carriers send packages directly to the campus, including on Saturdays.  We do not recommend sending express mail packages via USPS as there is a delay in these packages coming to campus - USPS does not deliver any mail directly to housing buildings and mail is not picked up from USPS sorting facilities on weekends.

Packages are accepted on campus, at each residence hall. We recommend packages only be sent to residence halls for guests staying longer than two weeks on campus.

For guests staying less than two weeks, we recommend sending packages to a local FedEx, UPS, CVS, or Rite Aid near campus for pickup.

Packages delivered after a guest has moved out cannot be sent to the guest.

Is there a gym I can use?

Yes!  Gym access and recreational services can be purchased for a daily fee.  Individual guests cannot purchase gym passes on site.  Please have your event coordinator contact the Conference Services team to pre-purchase gym passes.

Will I have access to a kitchen?

Suite and traditional style residence halls have a shared kitchen on the main floor.  Apartment style residence halls such as Morgan Hall and Temple Towers are outfitted with kitchenettes in each apartment.  Kitchenettes include stove tops, convection oven/microwaves, and refrigerators.  Cups, plates, utensils, and cooking equipment are not provided.

Can I have visitors?

Visitor passes may be granted for your conference through written request from your event coordinator.  Minors as guests (anyone under the age of 18) are not permitted to enter any residence hall without approval from the Conference Services team. Adults, 18 and older, are not permitted to enter any minors residence without the proper clearances on file with the university.

Is there internet access on-site?

Yes.  Wireless access is available on all public areas within the residence halls.  Wi-Fi packages for dedicated access can be purchased by your event coordinator through the Conferences team.

Do linens come with my room rental?

Linens are not included in your room rental.  Disposable linen packages can be added to the group reservation or guests can bring their own.

As noted, linens are disposable and one packet includes:

  • 1 Pillow
  • 1 Pillowcase
  • 1 Blanket
  • 2 Sheets (could be fitted, flat, or a combination of both)
  • 1 Bath Towel
  • 1 Washcloth

Should guests choose to bring their own linens, bedding should fit a Twin XL bed.

Is parking on campus available?

Parking lots and garages are located on-site for a daily entry fee at the gate.  Overnight garage parking passes are available for purchase through the Conference Services team.  Parking pass needs must be indicated on the guest list provided by your event coordinator.

For more information about daily parking rates and lot locations, click here.

Is alcohol permitted in the residence halls?

Alcohol is not permitted within the residence halls.  While Temple University is not a dry campus as we have bars and restaurants on campus that do sell and serve alcohol, we do not allow these items to enter the residential spaces.

How are roommates assigned?

The event coordinator for your conference provides the Conference Services team with a list of roommate pairings prior to your arrival. Any changes need to be approved by the event coordinator and the Conferences team no later than 10 days prior to your arrival.

Are ADA accommodations available?

The majority of our residence halls offer ADA accommodations.  Conference Services will need to know in advance if an ADA accommodation is required for any guest.  Below is a list of ADA accommodation types that we offer throughout campus.
