Fraternity and Sorority Life

Since 1903, the Temple University fraternity and sorority community has been a vibrant part of campus life. Today Temple University’s fraternity and sorority community has grown to consist of 34 chapters belonging to four councils, and over 1,800 undergraduate members. These organizations create smaller communities within the larger university environment.

Five core values guide the experiences offered to students within fraternity and sorority life:

Empowering one another, Engaging with our community, Exploring our identities, Ensuring health and safety, and Enhancing the co-curricular experience.

The creeds and rituals that guide each individual organization are based on values that foster an understanding of community and social responsibility.

Student Activities serves as a liaison between the greater Temple University community, recognized fraternities and sororities, and their inter/national organization. We are dedicated to the holistic development of students throughout their fraternal experience and welcome you to explore involvement in fraternity and sorority life at Temple University.
