WHO WE ARE:
The CARE Team consists of the Assistant Dean of Students and CARE Team Case Managers who work directly with students to address challenges that impact their wellness, academics, and overall Temple experience.
WHAT WE DO:
The CARE Team receives referrals for students experiencing challenges from faculty, staff, friends/family, Temple students and/or other members of the campus community. Students may also self-refer. The CARE Team will reach out to the student to discuss the presenting challenges and provide referrals to relevant resources. The CARE Team also meets weekly with the CARE Team Committee (comprised of representatives from Temple University Police Department [TUPD], Tuttleman Counseling Services, Title IX, etc.) to ensure that student challenges are being addressed effectively.
WHAT WE DON'T DO:
- The CARE Team is not a 24 hour service. We are available from 8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday.
- We are not mental health providers and do not offer counseling, nor do we provide mental health diagnoses. We can make referrals for these services.
- We do not conduct wellness checks.
- We cannot provide long-term case management services.
- We cannot offer tuition or financial aid assistance--please contact Student Financial Services for these issues.
- We cannot assist with registration--please contact Advising for this issue.
- We cannot provide long-term housing--we can provide resources regarding short-term solutions to alleviate an immediate need.
- We cannot respond to the location of a crisis situation. If a student is a danger to themselves or others, please call TUPD at 215-204-1234.
**The CARE Team is not for emergencies. If there is an immediate threat to a student (either through self-harm or interpersonal violence) or the community, please call the Temple University Police Department at (215) 204-1234.**
