Before you arrive

You are encouraged to either walk in or make an appointment during our hours of operation, Monday through Friday. If you have any questions about your visit or what to bring, email or call the Hub.

The following items may help during your visit; however, you can still access support if you don’t have them with you.

  • Your Temple ID card: This helps us verify student status and connect you with the right resources.
  • Any forms or documents you already have, if applicable: This may include housing paperwork, benefit letters, budgeting notes or anything related to your question.

When you arrive

  • A staff member or student resource navigator will greet you.
  • You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable.
  • We’ll ask a few questions to understand what support you’re looking for today.

During your visit

  • You’ll receive personalized guidance from our staff and student resource navigators, and we’ll answer any questions you may have.
  • We may talk through options for food access, housing stability, financial guidance, transportation or other resources.
  • We’ll walk you through any required forms or applications.
  • If another office or community partner can also provide support, we’ll connect you directly.

See responses to questions you may have about the Essential Needs Hub.

What kind of help can I get here?

Who can access support?

Is support only offered on Main Campus?

While the Hub is located on Main Campus, any student enrolled at a Temple campus can visit and access resources.

Who should I contact if I need emergency support?

If you feel unsafe or are in an active emergency situation, contact Temple Public Safety directly at 215-204-1234. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, you can visit Tuttleman Counseling Services at 1700 N. We also take walk-ins during our hours of operation, and we will connect you with an available staff member to assist you.

I’m not sure what kind of support I need; can I still come in?

Yes, absolutely. When you arrive, a staff member or student resource navigator will greet you and talk with you to determine what resources may be helpful.

Do I have to bring documents or proof of need?

Students are welcome to access services through the Essential Needs Hub at any time, and no additional documentation or proof of need is required to access services. For specific programs or support enrolling in benefits, you may be asked to upload or submit documentation to evaluate need. This can be submitted at your discretion.

What should I expect when I visit?

From there, you’ll receive personalized guidance, including your options and any paperwork that may be needed. If another community member or partner can help, we will connect you directly.
