Health and Well-being Resources

Located at the Hub

Resiliency Resource Center

The Resiliency Resource Center (RRC) within the Christopher and Julie Barnett Essential Needs Hub provides an inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment where Temple University students can strengthen their emotional well-being, develop resilience skills and engage in self-directed wellness practices. The RRC serves as a space for students who are new to Tuttleman Counseling Services, as well as those currently participating in individual or group therapy who wish to build upon the skills they are developing. Through peer support, psychoeducational resources, mindfulness activities, wellness programming and connections to campus resources, the RRC complements rather than replaces the clinical mental health services offered by Tuttleman Counseling Services.

Students are encouraged to visit the RRC to explore a variety of evidence-informed wellness resources designed to support stress management, resilience and overall well-being. Available resources include online wellness platforms such as Headspace, MUSE and VIA Character Strengths; self-guided workbooks; meditation and relaxation exercises; massage chairs; biofeedback technology; bright light therapy; and other tools that promote healthy coping, self-care and personal growth throughout the college experience.

Zen Den at the Hub

The Zen Den at the Christopher and Julie Barnett Essential Needs Hub provides an inclusive, welcoming and restorative environment where Temple University students can temporarily step away from daily stressors to engage in relaxation, mindfulness and self-care. Guided by trauma-informed and student-centered practices, the Zen Den promotes emotional well-being, resilience and balance while supporting the Essential Needs Hub's mission of helping students meet their essential needs and thrive academically and personally.

Maddy's Sensory Space

Maddy's Sensory Space provides an inclusive, accessible and supportive environment where Temple University students can access sensory tools and a reduced-stimulation space to support self-regulation and overall well-being. Informed by KultureCity Sensory Inclusive® training and trauma-informed practices, the Sensory Room promotes dignity, choice, independence and belonging. Maddy's Sensory Space advances the Essential Needs Hub's commitment to creating environments where all students have access to resources that support their success.
